Choosing a General Practitioner is one of the more important decisions you make for your family. We generally welcome new patients to our Practice, especially new patients who have moved into our area or relatives of our current patients. However, we sometimes need to close our Practice lists to new patients so that we can look after our current patients properly. This may happen during very busy periods or when one of the doctors is on leave.

If you are coming for the first time, we will ask you to complete a registration form so we know a little bit about you.

If you are joining our practice it is often important for us to have access to your medical records, especially if you have a significant medical history. We can assist you in organising the transfer of your records from your previous G.P.

We have a strong commitment to ongoing education and teaching at Dun Laoghaire Surgery. Dr Paul Lacey has been the Continuing Medical Education (CME) tutor for the Dun Laoghaire Faculty of the Irish College of General Practitioners ICGP for many years. Dr. Nicky Boyle is a clinical tutor for undergraduate medical students in U.C.D. so we sometimes have medical students with us in the Practice. When this happens you will be asked in advance if you have any objections to a student sitting in on the consultation, and if you would prefer you can always see your doctor on his or her own.
